This is not cool. Athena, Carl's oldest female dog, has Lymphoma. Which is, as you might imagine, a cancer of the lymph nodes. Or rather a cancer that generally shows up in a lymph node or a group of lymph nodes, or in the spline. My Uncle Calvin had this and it killed him but he was very sick for a long time and in pain for the remainder of his life. According the the Vet she has about a month to live and the only thing he could do for her was treat the symptoms so she can feel better but he cannot do anything other than that...she will just pass away.
Also, my Uncle Cecil may have a tumor in his brain. That makes me very sad because I haven't had much of a relationship with him and last summer and this past Christmas holiday we talked a lot and got along graet. It'll be really sad to see him pass at such a young age. I believe he is in his early 50's which when I think of that that seems really young becuase my dad's grandparents lived to be almost 100 each.
What a depressing day...I hope it only gets better from here.
